Utility Surveillance

Surveillance, once considered a security arrangement, has evolved itself to being a utility surveillance whereby the user can decide on the usage of surveillance results through analytical instruments.

One can use the surveillance systems for identifying times of peak customer visits in a retail environment, to identify and store car numbers entering in a Hotel, to count number of vehicles passed through a toll gate, to offer monitoring in a crèche to parents, as an alternative to fire alarm system, to monitor health of transformers etc,. The list goes on for the utility that one can drive from the surveillance systems apart from just security. While the usage and capability of surveillance as a utility can be really interesting, it is worth noting the advantages that it can offer vis-a-vis the traditional methods of capturing information.
